Demerol is a pain reliever that is given, by prescription only, to patients for moderate to sever pain. It can be fatal and is not recommended for patients who have a sensitivity or allergy to monoamine oxidase inhibitors or anyone who may have recently had one.

Many who were close to Jackson spoke about his addiction to pain killers and some suspect that Demerol may have been used beyond it’s prescribed medicinal function.
Below is a full chemical description of Demerol including risks and warnings.
