Ford May Sales Report

June 2, 2009

Uncategorized

The Ford Motor Company — you know, the one that didn’t ask for federal bailout money, hasn’t declared bankruptcy and isn’t majority owned by the government — announced their monthly sales figures for May.

The automaker reported a 24 percent decrease from 2008, a time we’re now beginning to think of as ripe and prosperous. The good news, however, is that the sales for May are up 20 percent from April 2009. Given that not much has changed (positively) from April to May of 2009, one must gauge the 20 percent increase as a success. Hopefully this is the sort of news that will keep the American taxpayers from owning another car company in the near future.

Ford focused the dearth of their sales report on the good news about the company, touting its more fuel-efficient models and money saving technologies as well as the success of the the newly debuted 2010 Ford Mustang.
