Al Gore and a cavalcade of partners have announced the 2009 Green Inauguration which will feature a number of musical artists and is slated to be a carbon neutral event. Few politicians have done as much for the environment as Al Gore in recent years and it appears that the former Vice President is not planning on stopping his environmentalism any time soon — and that’s a good thing.
This is the press release for the event, which will feature rapper Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, singer Michael Franti, singer/songwriter Melissa Ethridge, R&B crooner John Legend and rock band Maroon 5.

What I’m most impressed by in this document is that the firm that produced it resisted the temptation to call it the “First Annual Green Inauguration.” Thank God. We grammar nerds hate when anything is called the “first annual.” To be annual something must have happened at least twice. Kudos to Al Gore, all the musical acts, Live Earth and the Rosen Group for putting together such a wonderful event and a wonderful press release.

In addition to facts about the event, the Publicity Release also includes information about what steps the promoters will be taking to ensure that the gala is carbon neutral and environmentally friendly.
