It’s been almost two years and millions of dollars later, but the USS Intrepid has had its renovations completed. The USS Intrepid is returning to the Manhattan pier. The Intrepid was commissioned in 1943 and saw action both in World War II and Vietnam.  The USS Intrepid has been part of a museum complex in New York City since 1982.
