2008 Election

Sally Quinn started her journalism career with the Washington Post under Ben Bradlee. She quickly earned her spurs and a reputation so much so that even Henry Kissinger quoted “[Post reporter] Maxine Cheshire makes you want to commit murder. Sally Quinn makes you want to commit suicide.”

Sally Quinn’s experience with reporting for television was not as she would have liked it. In 1973, her experience with CBS Morning News was such that on the very first day she collapsed from flu, the next day she had to report alone as her co-anchor’s mother died and when on air her comments tended to be a little flippant like when she said that her idea of child labor was her parents making her clean her room.
