Yahoo is quite simply the most visited website in the world with around 3.4 billion pages of the Yahoo! portal being viewed everyday. Yahoo offers a web portal, search engine, Yahoo! Directory, Yahoo! Mail, news, and social media websites and services. Jerry Yang and David Filo are two geeks (well, they are Electrical Engineering graduate students from Stanford University) who created Yahoo. They chose the name from Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift in which it stands for all that is uncouth, unsophisticated, and rude. The first URL that Yahoo was given was akebono.stanford.edu/yahoo.
