Vancouver Island Earthquake

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck at 5:37 a.m. local time today off the western coast of Vancouver Island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor hit at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) about 472 kilometers west-northwest of Vancouver. The quake followed a 5.2-magnitude temblor that struck the region yesterday.
