Macrobiotic diet
There are diets and then some more diets. Some manage to stay in public consciousness for a while longer while most enjoy a “fad” period when they are all the rage. The macrobiotic diet is a diet that has exhibited some resilience and staying power, it’s still around. The diet and the philosophy it is based on was developed by Japanese educator George Ohsawa. The diet aims to integrate phyiscal and mental well being.
The macrobiotic diet is a predominantly vegetarian diet which is low-fat and high in fiber. Whole grains and vegetables find prominence in this diet form. Dairy and animal products are avoided though a small amount of fish is allowed for daily intake.
