Joe Biden

August 19, 2008

2008 Election

Joe Biden or Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. (born November 20, 1942) has been unofficially declared as the clear front-runner in the Democratic party’s internal race for the vice-president’s position. Joe Biden is the longest serving senator of Delaware and holds the distinction for serving for the sixth longest period amongst current senators. Biden is also a long-time member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. In 1997, he became the ranking minority member and chaired the committee from June 2001 through 2003.

Biden was a strong presidential candidate in 1988 but perhaps he is the only candidate ever to have his presidential campaign derailed due to plagiarized speeches. This, in spite of his superb oratory skills and acknowledged fund raising capacities.
